Harvard Film Archive

The Harvard Film Archive is a fantasic resource for anyone interested in Movies and their history.

Movies are supposed to be fun ! Sure, there are movies that lean towards serious subject matters, and these movies will be treated as they should, but you will not be subjected to a bunch of stuffy movie reviews on this site. Movies are not viewable after the thirty (30) day period. Stopping, pausing or restarting a movie does not extend the available time for viewing. Movies are categorized by topic into recreation, leisure, tourism, sport management, and physical education curricula.

In addition, for each film the authors provide guidance on framing the movie for your students, discussion and reflection questions, other learning activities, and evaluation tools for the experience.

Movies are carefully parsed and examined to discover ironic visions worthy of the twenty-first century arts faculty in even the most forgettable cookie cutter exploitation genres. If you pick up a copy of any schlock horror film in a bargain DVD bin, the advertising on its case will proclaim its ‘subversive' nature. Movies are already on thier way to the same level as music downloading…its easy to get them, so why not? Penn State recently put up a firewall in the dorms that was supposed to disable filesharing programs like Kazaa. Movies are breaking the law, courts around world! Ruled that businesses and can be, prosecuted.

Movies are just the story, and if the story doesn't grab you . And (as is the case with all art) an uneducated "first impression" based on whatever mood you happen to be in at the time is apparently the most reliable guide to whether a movie is "good" or not. Movies are given an extra penalty for not appearing on another team member's list, and are given bonus weight if someone gave it first place. As you can see, the Calculando Calrissian 2000 is a terrifyingly complicated piece of machinery.
