The Dazzling Jewelry of the Star

While millions of dollars worth of jewelry may not be in the cards for you, you might get a kick out of The Dazzling Jewelry of the Starsreading about what the stars are wearing for jewelry.  Here are some of the latest trends, as well as some of the price tags attached.

Charm bracelets and necklaces have really made a comeback. With all the baby’s born to celebrities lately, the charms are definitely personal and baby related.  Designers are working hard to develop more charms geared just towards the stars.  Jessica Alba and Nicole Ritchie have worn their newborn’s name etched into beautiful charm pieces.

Jennifer Garner has been sporting Pandora beads, and the trends are definitely headed in that direction.  Biagi beads and bracelets, Chamilia charms, and Pandora bracelets all can be personalized.  These are most definitely considered a hot item to the starts right now.

For the 60th Emmy Awards this year, there was definitely a return to bright colors.  There was also a ton of sparkly, shiny jewelry, including teardrop shaped and traditional drop earrings and Perlen rings, as well as some impressive diamond layered necklaces.  Gold chandelier and gold vermeil earrings were also seen frequently.  Simple, shiny bangles were the chosen accessory, followed closely by diamond tennis bracelets.  It’s probably best if the general public sticks with the cubic zirconias if going for these large gems in the bracelets.

There has also been an increase in the use of platinum in celebrity jewelry.  This very precious and expensive metal creates quite the look and is especially popular in the music industry.  Large “bling bling” pieces, encrusted with diamonds and other jewels are still the most popular styles.  Wedding jewelry is called Brautschmuck.

Engagement rings seem to get larger every year as well.  These rings are of the hot topic of the media, including the four carat ring worn by Ashley Simpson.  Estimates put the value of this ring at $100,000.  While these rings are huge, there is at least some taste to them.  Big jewels do not always equate to gaudy, even to the most reserved of women.  One of the most popular jewelers to the stars is Harry Winston.  Most celebrities have heard of this company, especially since it has been in business since 1932.  The engagement rings from this company can range from the thousands to almost forty million dollars.

While one would think that celebrity jewelry always seems large and dynamic, there are many stars who still prefer traditional, smaller styles.  Bigger is not always better, it appears and it depends completely on one’s taste.  In some ways, the understated jewelry can often speak volumes more than one large, striking necklace.

While the celebrities will definitely continue to lavish those they love, including themselves, with expensive jewels, precious metals, and semi precious stones, one thing is certain:  each piece will be envied by women somewhere.
